School Year Memories

The end of the school year can be a perfect time to reflect and reminisce about the past 10 months. Your reflection can be as simple as spending some quiet time thanking God for bringing you through another year with your children. Or, you may like to write in a journal and describe the highlights from the school year. Another idea is to go for a lunch date with your kids and discuss what they enjoyed and disliked about the past year. Whatever fits your style, try to take some time to reminisce.

For those who like to feed their creative side, you may like this memory keeping idea. (A parent included this as part of her child's learning samples during the past reporting period.) This memory keeper consists of brown paper lunch bags bound together to create little pockets that can store photos. A very sweet idea.

I also decided to reminisce a bit and used a Picasa slide show (below) to review some of my daughter's "learning moments". This was simple to do and can be emailed to family and friends at the end of the school year.

However you choose to reminisce, I hope that it will bring a smile to your face and help you to see the worth of what you are doing as a homeschooling parent.

What a great idea Mrs. Holder! I first read this a few days ago and started looking through pictures to post some on our blog. Just thought I'd come back to comment ;-)

The post isn't finished yet, but should be in the next few weeks! :0)

Have a great summer!
